More from Amanda: As the introductory speaker at Michelle Obama's 2019 "Becoming" Book Tour, Amanda is a confident, passionate presenter with plans of studying biomedical engineering and becoming a robotic surgeon. In addition to Amanda's academic achievements, she has served as the lead of the junior board for the Broward STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) Family Expo in 2017 and 2018, serving over 3,000 community members annually. Amanda is in her 12th year of Girl Scouts, has earned her Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards and has been Southeast Florida's number one cookie seller for the past seven years, selling over 35,000 boxes of cookies. She is on Girl Scout's national G-TEAM and is an intern for the Girl Scout Research Institute. Amanda is an advanced violinist, performing with the Florida Youth Orchestra's Symphony Orchestra since 2018. In her spare time, Amanda competes on her school's World Championship robotics team, maintains her photography business, and participates in her school's pit orchestra as first-chair violinist. Amanda is the Co-Founder of Today is Her Story, empowering teen girls by working with professional women. Recently, she launched Today is Her Story's podcast called "DON'T QUIT. DO IT." where she interviews teen girls and powerful women.
