Questions to consider:
What does it really mean to be full of light, both inwardly and outwardly? How do obedience and sanctification separate light from darkness in our own lives? And what can Abraham's unique account of the Creation teach us about our divine identity and purpose today?

In this episode of Streaking the Scriptures, Jeff Downs wraps up Abraham chapters 4 and 5 and invites us into a deeper, more personal reflection on the Creation. Through Abraham's language of "the gods," the council in heaven, and the repeated emphasis on obedience, we see Creation not just as an event, but as a pattern for our lives. Jeff thoughtfully explores the dividing of light from darkness, connecting it to Christ's teachings in the Sermon on the Mount about outward light that blesses others and inward light that sanctifies the soul. Along the way, powerful cross-references from Matthew, 3 Nephi, and Doctrine and Covenants expand the meaning of having an eye single to God's glory.

You'll also reflect on joy, obedience, partnership, and purpose as Jeff ties the Creation to marriage, family, work, and progression, including a moving look at Adam and Eve as equal partners and what it truly means to cleave together. The episode closes with a reminder that God watches, guides, and stays with us until we obey, not to coerce, but to help, teach, and lift.

In each episode, I’m going to discuss one of my favorite movies. I’ll look at why I find it compelling and why you should consider watching it. I’ll try to point out some of the technical aspects of the film making process to help you learn what to look for in other great films. I’ll also look at a topic that the movie dwells on and see what the Bible has to say about that. Scripture Texts with Expositions and Sentence-prayers from Calvin's Commentaries on the Minor Prophets by John Calvin (1509 - 1564) LibriVox The prayers of John Calvin, however, have received little attention, as compared with the fame which crowns his theological writings. His commentaries upon Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and the minor prophets were originally delivered in the form of lectures, each followed by appropriate petitions. Both lectures and prayers were extemporaneous. In his epistle dedicatory, prefaced to the commentary upon the minor prophets, and addressed to the King of Sweden, Calvin says: "Had it been in my power I would rather have tried to prevent the wider circulation of that extemporaneous kind of teaching, intended for the particular benefit of my auditory, and with which benefit I was abundantly satisfied." John Budaeus, in an- other preface, piously exhorts that we pray for the Spirit of God, that we may come to the reading of Scripture instructed by him.
