Ep.43 Experiencing and believing - how osteopathic treatment improved his quality of life and sent him down his career path - David Hickling, D.O.
from The Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Podcast · host Benjamin Greene, MHS, Lic, D.O. and Jordan Little, DO
His mother noticed her son always leaning to one side at meal time. After convincing the doctors to do a workup they found he had an extra hemivertebra between T12-L1 and an extra rib attached to that vertebra. He began seeing Dr. Barbour an osteopathic physician who worked on him for many years treating both his back pain and headaches. At the time it appeared to be voodoo that somehow worked, but after deciding to go to osteopathic medical school it started to become more clear what Dr. Barbour had been doing. Now he works full time as a neuromusculoskeletal medicine physician, owning his own practice and improving patient's quality of life much like Dr. Barbour did for him years earlier.
