EP 445: 10 Mistakes You're Making Archery Elk Hunting with Jon Gabrio

from The Rich Outdoors · host Cody Rich: Hunting Podcaster, Outdoorsman, Adventure Seeker

This week Gabrio and I wanted to do a podcast about the 10 most common mistakes in archery elk hunting. First and foremost Gabrio and I completely acknowledge that we make most of these as much as anyone out there. We kick off the podcast with Jon's epic story of his Montana bull from 2019 and his crazy encounter wit a heard of 300 head of elk. Let's just say it is one of those insane days in the elk woods and they had multiple opportunities. Jon ended up taking a really great bull out of that heard but it wasn't without its ups and downs. The 10 most common mistakes.      Not being ready     Selecting a unit/area     Lack of effort     Not aggressive enough     Knowing when to make a move and when to wait for a better option     Wind     Giving away your position     The Draw     Miss judge range/ Sight failure     Positioning/movement
