EP 446: How to Side Hustle Your Way to a Sheep Slam with Brian Rhead

from The Rich Outdoors · host Cody Rich: Hunting Podcaster, Outdoorsman, Adventure Seeker

This week I am joined by Brian Rhead, who has among many accomplishments, managed to get his entire sheep slam (all 4 North American Sheep) by making trades and working his side hustle. That alone is a feat that I really look up to, but Brian has one of the most impressive trophy rooms I have seen. In this podcast, we also talk solo elk hunting as Brian has taken 30 bull elk with his bow as well. I love this conversation and I really appreciate those who go and chase down their goals. So many people will tell you that Sheep hunting is a rich man's game, maybe it is but that is the beauty of this country if you want it bad enough it is 100% within reach. Show Notes:  Intro - About Brian Rhead - 02:44 A Bit on Strategy - 12:01 From Elk to Adventure Hunting - 17:56 High Dollar Hunts on a Budget - 27:15 Love of Bow & Rifle Hunting - 37:22 Advice & Side Hustling - 44:25 Preparation & Discipline - 51:47 Brain's Instagram & Mounts - 57:51 This episode brought to you by FHF Gear, more than just a bino-harness FHF makes a modular system that brings tactical efficiency to your hunting setup. I have been running FHF harness for about three years now and this is by far my favorite harness that I have used. The minimalist design doesn't feel like I am wearing a front backpack, and the modular abilities allow me to add storage or pieces depending on what kind of hunt I am on. If I am heading into Grizz country for an archery hunt I can mount my Razco holster to my harness and have my pistol available. If I am rifle hunting I will probably run my bear spray or If I am nowhere near grizzlies I will run my bipod on my harness. I love that, depending on the hunt I can add or subtract pieces to fit the hunt and everything I need is right there within reach.   The FHF bino harness is a solid piece of gear and really everyone at that company is just really good people who I am more than happy to support. Check them out and if you have an FHF harness already check out all of the new accessories Paul has been designing. Use Code TRO and get 10% off your order.
