HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME ETC.! Yes! Today marks the 2nd birthday of the LWICFD! Podcast and to help celebrate this very special anniversary for me (see EP.#31), I am extremely honoured to have my dear friend Peter Hughes! 🥳 I first met Peter back in 2005 (pretty much to the day this pod drops 😳!) when I got asked to do the sound and Tour Manage the band Peter was playing bass and singing beautiful harmonies in…The Mountain Goats who were blowing up in Australia and globally with songs such as "This Year", "No Children" and "Dance Music". For 20+ yrs Peter toured with the 🏔️ 🐐 and I was lucky enough to tour Aus&NZ with them on 4 occasions. Peter even came to stay with my wife and I at our house at the conclusion of the 2006/2007 tour for a week (with another rad dude who was on that tour - John Vanderslice) so we have a lot of good history and I really enjoyed catching up with him and hear his journey from growing up in California to now, especially because… …late last year, Peter "retired" from the MGs - but he didn't go and drink cocktails on the beach while enjoying retirement.
