EP. 46 - BEN ELLINGWORTH (DRUMMER // Gflip / Illy / Peking Duk / Tilly Fenton / mm9)

On this episode we have a 🔥🔥🔥 drummer called Ben Ellingworth. I first met Ben when he was working in the Billy Hydes music equipment rental place in Sydney and drumming in this sik band called mm9 who played a lot at a venue I worked at called the Annandale and then one time they came on a national tour as the main support act for this other band I was tour managing called Karnivool (this tour is definitely in my top 5 tours of my whole career.) 15 years after that tour and Ben is now playing drums with Gflip touring this mega tour with G pretty much since covid ended and G blew up all over the world - and its still going! Along the way Ben also worked with many other bands eg Illy and Peking Duk and is also working with an emerging artist called Tilly Fenton, but what I love about this tho is way back on that 'vool tour and when I saw Ben at the Billy Hyde's he would always be super friendly but always tell me that he was gonna be playing massive stages one day and now he is and I am so stoked for him b/c he is the nicest dude, he absolutely loves drums and drumming so he is doing what he has always dreamed of which I find really inspiring. Plus he fecking rips on the drums and is just awesome to watch - links in the shownotes.
