[00:01 – 6:05] How Terri Became a Business Consultant Terri came out of college with a master’s degree as a speech-language pathologist. She started her own clinic, with no idea how to run it, only to figure it out in the 2nd year of running the business. In 1982, she sold her first business and started an art business For 31 years she has become a business consultant. [06:06 – 17:51] Starting the Day with Gratitude, Intentions, and Delegation Waking up and giving gratitude to whatever, such as waking up or having heat or air conditioning or seeing your loved ones. Setting up your intentions: What do you intend to feel for the day? Having fun? Make great connections? Having a lot of energy? Delegating yourself to the universe and the things that you are not in control Be a better communicator Using your energy efficiently to create solutions [17:51 - 20:31] How to have successful business conversations It is okay to say you don't know and that it is a sign of strength Terri shares how she started writing at the age of 7 and published a poetry journal at the age of 8 by this time she has already published 47 books. Terri believes that to have a conversation, one must listen and not bring opinions when working with others She shares her experience with a client asking for her consultations, it took two full meetings for them to realize that they needed to let the CEO and Director of Operations speak without interruption. The client then taught their team to do it.
