Ep 47: Empowering Birth Stories with Jessica
from Aligned Birth · host Dr. Shannon and Doula Rachael
Send us Fan MailIn this episode, Jessica Brock, a patient of Dr. Shannon and one of Doula Rachel’s former client’s, shares her two birth stories. She shares how she prepared for her first birth with lots of research and advocacy and how this helped her navigate her long and exhausting (albeit beautiful and healthy) birth of her first son in 2018. She then shares how her first birth informed her 2nd birth and the things she chose to do differently for her 2nd birth to her daughter Nora in 2020 amidst a global pandemic. Jessica shares about switching providers late in pregnancy, PROM (premature rupture of membranes), getting adjusted by Dr. Shannon in early labor, laboring at home until later in labor, and giving birth within 2 hours of arriving at the hospital. Jessica also talks about her experiences during postpartum with both of her kiddos. Be sure to listen until the end because she offers some beautiful words of encouragement and advice for those expecting a baby soon. There are so many nuggets of wisdom from Jessica as she shares her beautiful and empowering experiences of giving birth. She is inspiring, encouraging, honest, and vulnerable.
