Ep. 47- Nicole's Story

Autumn and Becky sit with Nicole to hear her story. Nicole shares that her sheltered upbringing led to naivety regarding sex and pornography, and when her husband shared he had "problems" that they were uncomfortable talking about them. Following an experience that prompted her to lean into a closer relationship with her Savior, Nicole's world was rocked by her husband's "atomic bomb" disclosure on her birthday. Finding safe people and groups helped Nicole dispel the shame she felt and feel less isolated. Nicole learned to advocate for herself and her own needs with her ecclesiastic leaders and her husband, and finds joy helping other women learn to advocate for their own needs and self-care. Nicole's birthday is now an Anniversary of their fresh start, and she celebrates the constant process of learning. She is grateful that her faith keeps growing and tries to continually involve her Heavenly Father and Savior in that growing process.
