There are 5.5 million vending machines spread out from the North to South of Japan in every village, town and city. That is almost 1 vending machine for every 23 people which is the most number anywhere in the world.  It is a part of every Japanese person's daily life. And the reason why Japanese like vending machines is not just because of their convenience.
