EP 48: The Frankfurt School and the 'Dark Writers of the Bourgeoisie'

Am 29. Mai 2018 hielt Prof. Peter E. Gordon (Harvard University) an der LMU München den Vortrag "The Utopia of Reason Shines the Brightest in the Dark: The Frankfurt School and the 'Dark Writers of the Bourgeoisie'" im Rahmen des von Dr. Philipp Lenhard organisierten Workshops "Dunkle Denker: Jewish Readings of the Counter-Enlightenment". Gordon zeigt dabei anhand der Dialektik der Aufklärung und anderen Schriften der Frankfurter Schule auf, wie sich dort die dunklen Motive der Aufklärung mit dem Begriff der Erlösung und der Utopie durchdringen.
