Frank Aziz Enjoy Perfect. Well, Frank Aziz welcome to the daily grind my friend. How are you?

Good. Thanks for having me on man I really appreciate going you got a frank frank for people listening being first introduced to you If you want mine just kind of explaining a little bit as to who frank is and where this they do sure right now We I run a an agency a linkedin marketing and training agency And we've scaled to 12 people and we have quite a large sale staff at the moment with 40 1099 sale staff Want to have an internal sale staff as well that we plan on paying base and and plus commission We plan on scaling that aspect very soon But essentially what we do is we go into corporations and we train their sales teams on how to leverage linkedin We also provide like we're almost like a marketing arm of any company that wants to scale their branding And so we do the content production and content distribution And so we're fleshing that out as well and yeah, just growing the team and just grinding daily What types of businesses what type of people are you typically working with? So we're working with all types of people so commercial lenders we work with We work with mainly B2B companies, staff companies, medical device companies are really great for us Surprisingly in the CBD space and cannabis space we've been starting to work in it's kind of crazy But I think because of like my conference that I'm having in July, it's more of a focus lately But yeah, I've definitely been able to help scale sales teams help build people's brand on linkedin and we're venturing the podcast now Which is amazing and and yeah, we're essentially that the marketing arm the sales arm of any emerging company So what got you into linkedin give us a little backstory interesting. Yeah, so when I first started engaging more in linkedin I was following a girl named Michaela Alexis on a linkedin And she was actually she's like an emerging influencer and she started getting a lot of traction I started following her story And really like that was the inspiration behind me posting on a consistent daily basis So I started posting on a daily basis.

It's been two years now. I'm probably posted I'm doing maybe one to ten posts a day now And before it was just like maybe one post a day and so I've insight into that But that's kind of the whole focus is like I needed to have a focus on brand because to some extent my entire company was sales based Right, so we were making cold calls. We were you know reaching out doing networking We were going to conferences all these things what we were doing, but we weren't brand focused And I think that's what a lot of people neglect these days They either neglect sales or they neglect brand and it's a really big mistake to neglect any one of them So true people people think they can get away without doing one of them too, right? Absolutely 100 percent I mean the bigger companies like fortune 500 companies they can not do sales and just focus on brand and they're gonna sell But I mean there's a reason they're in the fortune 500, you know, they're they're an anomaly not they're not the the norm So LinkedIn like obviously it's been around a while, but I feel like recently it's like really starting to pick up traction Was that what sort of enticed you like what why LinkedIn was it was it the upside like what led you to LinkedIn specifically?

So so here's my philosophy I think if you're starting a brand from scratch You don't want to start a brand on a platform where there's a ton of competition So like what I feel is like on instagram There's like tons of influencers on instagram and they've have established brands already And so what I think needs to be done consistently is attention arbitrage You need to figure out where all the attention is and where it's there's a low barrier to entry And so that's where my focus is is where is there a low barrier to entry? Then maybe when I when I'm big enough to wear like I'm known globally I can go on any platform and just become famous But essentially like I want to I want to do what I can to get the most bang for my buck or get the most bang for the work ethic That I put into a platform and be able to grow exponentially without having to spend a ton of money on ads on instagram or have to Consistently focus my efforts on a platform that has all this competition and people Most of the time get nowhere because there's just so much competition Yeah, it's looking outside of what everyone else is doing right. It's like finding those little things I think so many people get attracted to instagram or I mean right now tiktok's really growing But like people start to get that they see other people and they wait for their success And then they'll jump in but it's honestly kind of like a different look at it. Yeah, absolutely I think you know LinkedIn right now Text message marketing right now tiktok is really a great platform to to develop your brand I just think like you can you can be on tiktok you can do post on LinkedIn and you can get like Thousands hundreds of thousands of views tomorrow without any without any following So why would I why would I ignore that aspect and focus on the platforms that everybody's like sold on already?

You know and I feel like that's that's exactly why I focus on these platforms that don't have like a huge That that not everybody's on because I can develop a following and then I can transfer that following to other places as well What type of content works on LinkedIn right now? So I really like the Kind of like the slide. I don't even know the term but the slide Doing the the where you have to scroll and you're there's a bunch of slides Multiple images. Yeah multiple images.

That's really really effective right now But honestly like you know, I'm not really really concerned with a type of content that's posted I'm more concerned of I'm more concerned with are you posting content that is your personality? Are you posting content that that is authentic to you because you have you have two spectrums of this Of this equation so you have on the one end you have all these influencers who are like Lying on these platforms and getting a ton of attention when they're not what they're what they're saying isn't really authentic So you could go that route but I just don't think I just don't like that route and eventually, you know It's gonna it's gonna bite you in the ass because you're gonna get called out eventually and there's a lot of people right now Even on LinkedIn right now that are just like straight up just telling non-truths that they have these big companies They're just not they're not truthful be authentic be who you are and uh and you know people will be attracted to you I feel the way I think about it is this If you if you go to a party if you go to any type of social event, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna ask someone. Hey, how should I act at this event or how should I do this? I'm just gonna be myself I'm just gonna be myself and the right people will be attracted to me now.

Yeah, there's certain contexts Right, so if you're going to like a party that's like really formal then there's probably some things you shouldn't say right? There's there's always context to you know a platform But for the most part be yourself and that alone will get you to where you want to be But let me let me like go back a little bit and tell you a little bit about my story and and kind of And kind of what got me to where I am today. So it's about three years ago Kind of intense, but this is why I started leveraging LinkedIn and this is why I feel very passionately about LinkedIn So about three years ago, you know had a personal issue with you know family Unfortunate issue, but my my mother actually came to me and was like I'm gonna So you and I try to get a restraining order on you to prevent you from to prevent me from putting your father in the nursing home So that was that was really like it was it was a shock It was it was very tough for me to deal with in fact, you know, like during like a tough time like that Sometimes you walk, you know, dasily by you know, and you're like what do I do? It's this is very tough And you know as as the time progressed, you know, I'm not even seeing my dad I come and I see me as like a big pressure wound.

He has all these health issues now that he didn't have before So I'm having to deal with that and really through that process I was able to pay for a 300 person wedding. I was able to pay for a hundred thousand dollars in my dad's health care expenses And I was able to just pay just my my my ability to live My shelter everything and I did it all through LinkedIn So so like like this is really personal to me because my dad is now alive because of LinkedIn So so it's a little bit it's a little intense to say it like that But that's how I feel about it now LinkedIn may not be popular forever Right may not be popular forever But what it's done for me is tremendous and it's very impactful and I'm happy to share that story You know of me having to go through that It was like a six month to a year process and it was extremely difficult and LinkedIn saved my my life and my dad's life So yeah, thank you for sharing that Obviously that was probably extremely pushing like that was pushing you during that time to continuously like push out content and do what you're doing Yeah, absolutely, you know, there's nothing more powerful than a strong why and you know because you know I don't even like to talk about myself all that much I just I don't I know what I like to do is I like to be on platforms Because it helps my business and that helps me help other people That's what I liked it So I'm not the type of person that likes to go like you know on podcasts But I know I need to do it for my business super important for branding But I think what what really touched me is when I had a conference and I shared my story And I and you know during the conference, you know, tear came down my face And I had like three people come up to me after the conference one girl in particular was just crying her eyes out Saying I thank you so much for sharing that and I feel like not sharing something like that Like something that's that personal to me is doing a disservice to people that are going through similar things and And it was just very impactful to me that I was able to talk somebody like that And so like you know, it's funny because like it's been it was like a year before I could even share that with anyone Even family members other families other cousins and then I finally shared in a bunch of people And it's really been to be honest It's an unfortunate situation, but it's been really like catalyst to you know My empathy towards other people one and then the growth of my company You know just working hard and doing the best you can on a consistent basis Having strong why definitely gets you to where the place you need to be oftentimes so It's it's funny how when you go through those moments like when you're going through them It's obviously awful right like there's no real other way to put it It's not like you're thinking during those moments. Oh, this is amazing But it's funny that during those moments like they really kind of shape you and those moments are often the catalyst towards doing something amazing Yeah, yeah, and I'm grateful for for the experience because it's made me a better person I don't know I honestly don't know if I would be like this empathetic towards other people if I didn't go through that Like if I didn't go through that enough all I saw was success I think there's two there's two there's two things that happen with people that are super successful right off the bat The one thing that happens is they quit the first time they see some type of You know turmoil right because they're so used to success that they just can't handle the turmoil And then there's other people that You know become really cocky, you know because they haven't you know experienced real tough life situations And that's when you find like you sometimes you'll find influencers at the very high levels that you approach them Like why are you so cocky what what what makes what makes you think that you can treat other people You know like the way you're treating them and so it's because they didn't go through like these horrible life experiences Right and and so oftentimes you know people should be grateful for the experiences I go through because it actually forms a human being you are and like people I don't know I don't think I'd be able to track the people in them and tracking now if I didn't go through that because people see they go There is an aspect of like hey, you have a good heart. You're a good person I want to work with you as opposed to anyone else, right?

And I don't think I would be able to exude that if I didn't go through those life situations Yeah, it's funny almost how we put people on like scales or we look up to something so much, right? So whether it's financial success or whether it's what they're doing in their business And we look up to those people so much we think that they are more worthy and better than and then doing so You look at the people below you and you think you are better than them And then oftentimes when you hit those targets and you reach the top You really don't have that empathy that you really need at that time because it has been taught to you Yeah, and it's funny because when you go through those situations like that's why I'm so grateful that I didn't experience success right away I you know it took me a while to experience success and and so that's that's why like I'm so grateful because now I can look at people And and appreciate them as opposed to like oh, you know what there's like you said there's like a scale So like for example, um, you know along the journey You know as you're going through something really tough You start to you start to see people that are open to helping you right along the way And uh, and you remember those people like for me like David Meltzer is a guy that's you know helped me along the way Uh, a guy named Sam box yar, uh, you know, it's helped me along the way. Um, you know, you know, you know People Patrick that David, you know, he may not even you know, he may not even know this but he's helped me a lot as well You know, he's on my podcast and um interesting interesting he showed a lot of respect to me And I appreciate that and I think you know, you know, those type of people you don't forget And you don't want to forget those people because they helped you win You weren't like the way you want where you needed to be at some point totally and so and so that's what I appreciate And I feel like those type of people are people that went through hard experiences They went through that they went through the daily grind they had to figure things out on their own They didn't see like initial success right away. They had to keep pushing and pushing and failing Getting back up pushing pushing failing getting back up pushing pushing failing And there's a certain level of humility that you gain when you go through hardships like that And when you don't do that when you're just like an influencer and you become super popular on a platform Whatever the case may be there's this like I can tell like from a mile away, you know, who's like that and who's not, you know So often happens when you're young too, right?

Like because I think that a lot of people that you're speaking with they're not that they're older But you know, they've been through it, right and they're not they're not just going through and starting to see success right away Absolutely. I mean if you're not seeing success right away, you're in the field you're successful dude Like I understand look if you look if you You need to make money you need to be able to support your life You need to be able to support your family, so there's different levels of success, right? But the fact that you're in the field you should give your credit You should tap yourself on the back just for that and then look towards, you know improving and and becoming better Just be grateful for everything you have on a daily basis and you know, if you're in the game, you know, there's always going to be haters There's always going to be people that say you can't do things and it's funny because like it's it's right before you start really making it big Is when people start saying that stuff, you know, you know, maybe you should maybe you should slow down a little bit Maybe you should not work as hard Maybe you should do this or that and you really need to push those you really need to push those thoughts aside And a lot of those people have, you know, your best interest in mind because entrepreneurship is not easy It's not an easy thing. It's a very sometimes it can be lonely.

It can be very not not lonely. It could be very awesome But you know, you're gonna go through really really hard times and and you just need to consistently push forward and and know that You know, if you're grinding on a daily basis, if you're grinding good for you, right? Keep going and keep improving What would you say to someone who's just getting started out in entrepreneurship? They're looking to kind of break out of what they're doing start something new What are some behaviors or what are some habits that you have found have helped you?

Which you feel like could help others. You know, a lot of times you hear things, you know, from other people and you kind of disregard them But one thing that's really helped a lot is waking up early. So waking up at 5am Now I'm not perfect and awake at about 5am every every day But doing that really really helps and also understanding and having the right expectations every day So you coming into entrepreneurship You need to know that the level of work that you're gonna have to commit to is far beyond what you're thinking now You're gonna have to put in so much work after overcome so much the reach the level that you want to reach whatever that level is Now some people they just want to make, you know, 100,000, you know, 50,000, 100,000 extra income 200,000 dollars an extra income a year and that's fine if that's what you want to accomplish But if you want to reach levels where like you're a known brand and you're gonna have to put in a lot more work than you think Okay, whatever you're doing now, you have to multiply that by a number that I you know, I don't know of Based on your circumstance, but you should definitely consider that the level of work you're gonna have to put in it far exceeds What you think you have to put in and that's always the case That's always the case. That's always the case.

There's never there's never an exception to that rule If you want if you're like, hey, I want to get to a million dollars or two million dollars Whatever the case may be if you want to get to a seven figure company, you need to put in so much work That it's gonna be painful. It's gonna be painful, but you have to get past it, right? Totally And so I think the expectations that people have sometimes when they go into entrepreneurship is like they have these rosy expectations of Everything going right everything going right and everything happening the way they want it to happen But you know, you're gonna have moments where you're gonna be like, maybe I should just do something else Maybe I should go back to a corporate job because it's just easier, you know, everything set up for you You get a nice salary, all these things You're gonna have those thoughts and to be honest If you're not having those thoughts if you haven't thought about quitting in the last week, you aren't working hard enough And I love actually like that If you haven't if you haven't thought about quitting In the last few weeks, you aren't working hard enough. I thought about quitting today I had a freaking I had meetings from 6 a.m.

All the way to now back to back meetings and with very little results Wow Very little results. Okay, so you're gonna have those days where it's gonna be extremely tough and you have to push past it And and consistently move forward and you know again It's just there's just a lot and another thing too is like have a good network You know, I think these are not this another thing that I just didn't take seriously I didn't take waking up early very seriously I didn't take working your ass off more than you think you have to very seriously And I didn't take having the right network very seriously So having the right network essentially is like You know, you get people every day if you have mentors I mean people there people don't like mentors people do like mentors or whatever the case me I don't care But there's there's always gonna be people out there that are way far ahead of you Right way far Yeah, ahead of that can point out things that you can't point out for yourself You don't know what you don't know Right, so when you have somebody like in front of you that's taken up company public Like I like I'm going to dinner with with a female who took her company public She has 200 employees and like she's pointing things out that are wrong that I'm doing And I'm like, I would have never I would have had to learn that myself over years Of time, right? So so you know, and if you're thinking like, oh, how do I find a mentor? I don't do there's a lot of ways you can reach out if you can you can reach out to a thousand people in a day Ask them.

Hey, I'll work for you for free for this many weeks or this many days or whatever the case may be I just want a chance to be mentored by you I want some of your advice some of your feedback whatever the case me I'll bring you to lunch. I'll do whatever whatever it is that I have to do to get some of your time start a podcast Oh crap like some of the people that I've contacted, you know No way I would have gotten a conversation with him I'll do it into a podcast with him Yeah, and like my role index is like high into level that I've never seen before It's because like the podcast that you do, you know, it just it builds relationships with people as opposed to like, you know You're not trying to take something from people you're building a relationship with them So that's what happens is like look like you're asking them for an interview Most people are open to being interviewed most entrepreneurs are right and if you interview them You can get to know them and then boom you say hey Can I grab lunch with you at the you know when you build a lot of rapport and there you go? There's no excuse it You don't want excuses just make it happen. There's so many resources out there that can help you make it happen Totally.

I love it. Well, what are you excited about? What's next? What's getting you fired up these days?

Yeah, so what's really great is I have a venture conference coming up in in July, which is great Um, so for calling for your audience, you know, I'm happy to provide a discount on ticket sales But so there's three reasons why you know people want to come to this particular conference The first reason is we're connecting around 300 investors with around 200 emerging companies So of the investors is going to be a lot of family offices So these are people that have a fundamental view of a business So not only are they going to provide money to a company, but they're going to want to see it grow and have A long-term vision for that company as opposed to a quick exit strategy. Okay, so that's one That's one that's one the second is we have like really great speakers and there's an educational focus behind it So we have like David Nelson for example is going to be speaking at our conference He's gonna be speaking about podcasting We have people like Mark Samantha who have generated a billion dollars through their sales teams We have people like amazing that have built millions of followers on youtube tick-tock things like that And then the third reason is if you're a company and you're looking for funding or if you want to just comfort the educational focus You're gonna have your own portal where people can schedule meetings in real time with you in the room We have two separate rooms. You're gonna go out and my partner is a securities attorney So he has all the legal documents ready. He has everything ready You know for a deal to be made at the conference.

So it's all through the portal you can actually get funds wired at the conference Which is awesome. So you know all you have to do is just go to cap con event calm cap con event. I see a p c o n as a nancy Event calm and then just put in the promo code daily grind amazing everyone that is cap con event I'll have this all in the show notes section of the page to make it super simple for you And frank if people wanted to follow along on your journey learn more about you Where's the best place everyone can do that so they can follow up with me on LinkedIn They can follow up with me. They can text me on my text message marketing plan This is my real number by the way, but if you have questions about the event if you have questions about anything Just reaching at seven one four two nine four zero two six nine.

I actually will respond You again seven one four two nine four zero two six nine and then I have a podcast Just look my name up frank Aziz and you can be able to listen to my podcast as well amazing And that is the business leaders podcast awesome I'm excited to check that out too, man Well, I want to thank you so much for taking time out of your schedule and sharing your wisdom here with the audience today I appreciate it.
