Ep. 49 - Sweet Caroline County
from Slower Lower Hosted by Bald Cypress Books
The first full weekend of August means one thing around here: It's the Eastern Shore Threshermen & Collectors Association's three-day Old-Time Wheat Threshing, Steam & Gas Engine Show in Caroline County, Maryland. Chris and Crystal devoted a Saturday to Sweet Caroline, returning to the Threshermen show for yet another year and popping into a favorite lunch spot in Denton, as well as checking out a new local brewery. Topics discussed: The wonderful Threshermen show, and the different breed of kids driving tractors all over the place. Dropping 80 bucks on vintage tin signs at the very first vendor's table they stopped at. Running into Russell A. Taylor III, who took some fantastic photos at the event. The Amish and Mennonite presence at the show. Lunch and beers at Denton's legendary Market Street Public House. What do you look for in a craft brewery? The good and the bad. Checking out Denton's Eden Town Brewery for the very first time.
