EP. 5- A Conversation With "Stone Cold" Steve Austin

from Iron-On Wrestling with Gregory Iron

Host Gregory Iron sits down with the toughest son of a bitch in WWE history, the one and only "Stone Cold" Steve Austin!   Last October, Greg sat down with Steve at 317 Gimmick Street to record a couple episodes of "The Steve Austin Show." The "Wrestle Days" documentary crew was following Greg that morning to capture the unique friendship between "The Handicapped Hero" and "The Texas Rattlesnake." While a lot of great banter made it to the "Wrestle Days" doc (available on YouTube), there was a lot of footage left on the cutting room floor. On this episode, you'll hear an exclusive conversation between Iron and Austin -- with content you've never heard from "The Bionic Redneck.".   Steve chats with Greg about his 1997 neck injury and the inevitable surgery that he had in the winter of 1999. Austin tells us how he convinced doctors to clear him to get back in the ring in 1997, when he knew he couldn't put off his neck surgery any longer, what he did during his time off in 1999, how he told Vince he wasn't coming back in 2000, his near death experience while blowing up the DX Express, his final run with The Rock in 2003, the emotional experience of having One More Round at WrestleMania XIX, and more.   Before the interview, Greg and co-host Aaron Bauer discuss their first, best and worst pro wrestler interactions. Aaron tells a story about answering the challenge of former WWF Champion Iron Sheik, Greg tells us what ECW wrestler stole $10 from him, and Aaron and Greg discuss "Stone Cold" impersonator "Even Colder" Mike Austin.   - - - Gregory Iron wrestles with cerebral palsy, a neurological disorder that affects the mobility of his right arm, hand and fingers. Trained by WWE NXT Superstar Johnny Gargano in 2006, Iron has conquered his disability and gone on to work with some of the top names in wrestling including "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, CM Punk, The Dudley Boyz, Tomasso Ciampa and many others.   Follow "Iron-On Wrestling with Gregory Iron" on all social media platforms: www.Facebook.com/IronOnWrestling www.Twitter.com/IronOnWrestling www.Instagram.com/irononwrestling   Back us on Patreon: www.Patreon.com/IronOnWrestling Follow Gregory Iron: www.Facebook.com/TheHandicappedHero www.Twitter.com/GregoryIron www.Instagram.com/gregory_iron   Buy CLASSIC AND EXCLUSIVE Gregory Iron tees here:   www.prowrestlingtees.com/GregoryIron www.whatforapparel.com/GregoryIron   To book Gregory Iron for pro wrestling events, speaking engagements, wrestling seminars, school workshops and more contact Greg on his website:   www.Gregory-Iron.com   Please check out our sponsors:   Kayfabe News: Unreal news about an unreal sport!   www.KayfabeNews.com   The Savage Stash: The Cream of the Crop for vintage & original pro wrestling merch!   www.TheSavageStash.com   Special thanks to "Ajax" Alex Cantrell for creating the "Iron-On Wrestling" theme song.
