Ep 5: From Side Hustle to Full-Time Entrepreneur: How I Left My Job + What Happened Next

from BOLDLY ALIVE · host Courtney Bussard

Send us Fan Mail Three months ago, I left my job and went all in on my business. And this episode is really me pulling back the curtain on both sides of that decision - what I did to actually set my business up so I felt like I could leave, and what the last three months have really looked like since. Because this was not me just jumping off a cliff and hoping for the best. I had spent months building recurring revenue, working with long-term clients, creating systems, paying attention to my numbers, and looking at the actual data of what I had built. There was a huge difference between having one big month and actually having a business I trusted. And that trust mattered, because once I left, there were definitely some oh shit moments. In this episode, I talk about what happened when I had to spend $1,000 on my car right after leaving my job, when a recurring client almost had to pause, when I turned down money because something no longer felt aligned, and how all of that forced me to deepen my trust in myself and in the business I had built. I also talk about the other side of it - the spaciousness. More time to cook. More time with friends. More creativity. More room to dream about what’s next. More time with my dog. More freedom to travel. And being able to go be with my family when I needed to without stressing about where my money was going to come from. That has probably been one of the biggest gifts of all of this. This season has been expansive, initiating, edgy, freeing, and honestly one of the biggest growth seasons of my life. And if you are in that place where you’re building a business, bringing in clients, but still wondering how the hell you would ever make it consistent enough to actually leave your job and do this full-time, this episode is for you. You do not have to have everything perfectly figured out. But you do need something you can trust. A business that is not starting at zero every month. A way to bring in clients. Offers that actually make sense. Systems and structure that can support you. And enough evidence to know that what you are building is actually working. If this episode resonates, I would love for you to send me a DM at @boldlyalivecourt and tell me what landed. And if you are ready to build a business that actually feels sustainable enough to support the life you want, you can book a call with me: BOOK A FREE CONSULT! Let’s freaking go! <3
