EP. 5: Tattoos, Faith, and Tapping into Your Inner Strength
from Sana Sana · host Eileen Lopez-Tome
Inner strength and faith go hand in hand for me. I was raised Catholic, and I strengthened my relationship with God as I got older. And, throughout my life, I had to lean on my own inner strength to get through the day. They worked together to keep me focused and keep me moving forward, even when I was exhausted. But both my inner strength and my faith were called into question when I was diagnosed with cancer. I couldn’t be the strong one anymore because I didn’t have that kind of strength to give. I shook my fist at God and asked why He allowed me to have cancer. My way of life was changing, and to get through it, I learned that I had to surrender. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about tattoos, faith, and tapping into your inner strength. In the video episode, you can see my survivor tattoo, which reads, “Tabitha Koum.” It means, “Little girl, get up,” and it’s what Jesus said to raise a little girl from the dead. This phrase tattooed on my arm helps me remember that my faith and my inner strength are still with me, especially when I have to surrender to life’s circumstances. Tune in to hear how I help my clients surrender and how I eventually accepted it after struggling with the concept.
