Sulfates (SLS, or sodium lauryl sulfate on the ingredient list) are completely safe to use, but may not be suitable for coloured or keratin-treated hair or people with skin conditions like eczema or rosacea. Sulfates are a detergent designed to cleanse the hair which can cause your colour to fade prematurely although the scientific evidence of such effects is mixed.
