When it comes to haunted locations around the United States many things come to mind. Cemeteries, houses, and battlefields are some of the most notorious locals when it comes to haunted places. What about hospitals though? The 19th and 20th centuries saw some of the most barbaric and inhuman treatments of patients when it comes to hospitals during this time. Especially those patients who were being admitted into mental hospitals specifically. The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum located in Weston, West Virginia opened in the mid 1800s and saw some of the most horrific treatment this country has ever seen.
