In Gods Lake Narrows First Nations, a small Manitoba town of 1,300 people 15 year old Leah Anderson disappeared one Friday evening. Leah left her home Friday January 4th, 2013 to go skating with friends but never returned home. 2 days later her young lifeless body was found on a snowmobile trail. Since that day Leah's family has been fighting for justice, hoping to locate the person responsible for her tragic ending. They wonder if they are still wondering amongst them within their own community. Unfortunately, at just 15 years old Leah became part of the national inquiry of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. But like the rest of these beautiful souls, they are not just a number they are a person. They are someone's mother, sister, daughter, wife, cousin, niece or friend. June 21st is National Indigenous People's Day, a day toacknowledge and honor the histories, culture, and achievements of Métis, First Nations and Inuit peoples.
