EP 63: Designing on the Front Lines, Part 1 | Better Services

from Design Lab with Bon Ku · host Bon Ku

This is part 1 of a special 3 part virtual talk in partnership with Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum and the Health Design Lab at Thomas Jefferson University. Pandemic-inspired service designers are bringing health care to communities. COVID-19 forced health care providers to quickly ramp up existing services (telemedicine) and set up entirely new ones (mobile testing and vaccination sites). Hospitals around the world developed safe, robust services at record speed. Leah Reisman, PhD (Health & Wellness Director, Puentes de Salud), Sonya Stokes, MD, MPH (Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine) and Morgan Hutchinson, MD ( Jefferson Health Design Lab) discuss how to best serve neighborhoods at risk. The panel was moderated by Morgan Hutchinson and Ellen Lupton. Video archives of the series are also available at CooperHewitt.org.
