After resigning from his position in sales in 1996, Alex became the youngest South African to guide a team to the summit of Everest at the age of 25. Since then he has led dozens of expeditions to some of furthest corners of the planet, including the north and south sides of Everest, the Seven Summits, and the Arabian Desert, to name a few.In 2008, Alex became the first African to walk unsupported to the South pole.
