Ep. 64 - Furnished or Unfurnished?

On today’s Real Estate Finder Podcast, Matthew Maschler and and Jill Glanzer talk about what to do when the Buyer and Seller want to make a side deal for the furniture.   Real property is land and anything built on it, or fixed to it.  Personal property is the rest of your stuff.  Televisions, Tables, Chairs, Art.   Generally, the real estate contract covers the "real property."  It can include some “personal property” but when there is a significant amount of “personal property” often a separate agreement can be made, and the price of that property would not be included in the contract price or the recording price.  There are many reasons why a Buyer or Seller would want to keep the "personal property” separate and we discuss some of them.  We also discuss ways to do it, whether it should be included on the closing statement and how to protect the customer.   Thanks for joining us on the Real Estate Finder Podcast!  Brought to you by: Matthew H.
