Today I sit down with the incredibleJoan Porter. Joan is a tremendously talented actress, known for her television roles, in Law & Order: SVU, Chicago Med, Inside Amy Schumer, Gotham, and many more. Born and raised in York, Pennsylvania, Joan worked with the famed Kenley Players as a young teenager where she performed with stars such as Mae West and Peter Lorre. Joan went on to study acting at Northwestern University and Carnegie Mellon. On arrival in New York City, Joan was fortunate enough to train with the esteemed Lee Strasberg and immediately landed a role Off-Broadway in The Country Wife, starring Francis Sternhagen. Joan is a proud member of The Collective and a Lifetime Member of the Actors Studio, she was happily married for many years to fellow studio member, the late Owen Hollander. Joan’s credits include an array of Film, Theatre and Commercial work. She is represented by Ann Steele Agency.
