from Chassidus · host Levi Gelb
• Negative commandments clear out the negative forces to allow for Gods dwelling in this world. Positive commandments create the actual vessels to contain that presence. • Main focus of a person should be to rid of the evil within himself, this will automatically affect the world too. • Every positive mitzvah also has an aspect of it that refines the animal soul. • "Mitzvos require intention (כוונה)" - to draw down the infinite essence of God through them. • Fulfilling a mitzvah creates a vessel that automatically draws down Godliness, but still deeper intention is needed to draw down the transcendent light of God. • The general intent behind all mitzvos throughout the day is from prayer. • Connection of prayer to the spinal cord; The reason why prayer in not considered a mitzvah from the Torah. • Link to view this page from the original sefer: http://www.hebrewbooks.org/pdfpager.aspx?req=31640&st=&pgnum=76 • Link to purchase the original sefer: http://store.kehotonline.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HRR-SM68
