The restaurant industry in India (and all over the world) is seeing one of its most trying times yet due to the pandemic and the endless lockdowns ordered by governments because of it. Maharashtra and Mumbai are no different. This past weekend, the Maharashtra government announced a slew of new lockdown restrictions which include a ban on restaurants and delivery apps from functioning after 8pm on weekdays, night curfews, weekend lockdowns, micro-containment zones and more. On this episode of Cock & Bull, Cyrus is joined by Pankil Shah, along with Amit and Antariksh. Pankil is the co-founder and partner at Woodside Inn and The Pantry Cafe. On this episode, the panel talks all about the above mentioned restrictions, the response of the central and state governments regarding the restaurant industry a woes during this time, the questionable logic behind some of these rules, how it things could have been better, what the govt could have done to avoid these major mishaps, and lots more.
