This week’s conversation is with Dr. Maggie Dwyer (@MagDwyer), a Lecturer in Africa and International Development at the University of Edinburgh. Her research focuses on conflict, security, and politics in Africa. She is particularly interested in militaries and international security interventions and we talk to her about her book, Soldiers in Revolt: Army Mutinies in Africa, published last year by Oxford University Press. Maggie earned her PhD at the University of Edinburgh and holds an MSc from Syracuse University and a BS from University of Mary Washington. Before becoming an academic, Maggie had a previous career working for the U.S. Department of Defense.
