Ep. 7- Amy's Story

Becky and Tiffany sit down with Amy to hear her story. Amy talks about growing up believing that God loved her, but she had to follow the "checklist" of things to do to be close to Him. As the oldest of 4, she also developed perfectionist tendencies. After she got married, she lost herself in her marriage and young motherhood. Her husband finally revealed that he was a pornography addict after severe bouts with depression. They went through painful ups and downs while trying to find help. Amy share that she felt re-traumatized as additional pieces of his addiction were slowly revealed until full disclosure in 2016. Since then, they are both committed to each other and work for a better future using tools like boundaries, honesty, and the Atonement of Christ. Amy today finds greater joy and peace in her life as she seeks restoration through God, is honest with Him and others in her journey, and seeks to help and talk with others about her journey.
