Ep. 7 - Cambodian Refugee Migration and Deportation

In honor of Immigration Week this past week at SCU, Parisa and Kaylyn talk about the Cambodian refugee and deportation crisis. In the 1970s and 1980s, massive amounts of Cambodian refugees came to the United States. However, now, the United States has been systematically deporting many of these same Cambodian refugees. Since 2002, over 700 Cambodian refugees have been deported, and the number is only going to be increasing. We'll be talking about the conditions that drove their original refugee migration, as well as why many of them are now vulnerable to deportation (despite being legal permanent residents in the US).
