Ep 7- Could You Be An Okay Stand Up Comedian? With Chloe Maddren

This week on the show I test you on your knowledge of Sydney suburbs with the help of producers Nathan Roach and Aspen Beilharz. If you think you know this city then play along to see just how many suburbs you can guess based off a short description. It sparked some controversy though as the question of whether or not the hub that is Central Station is within Surry Hills. I also got out of the studio this week and attempted to find out once and for all how hard writing a stand up comedy joke could be. As somebody who has never tried stand up but used to be quietly confident I'd end up doing it, it was an incredibly humbling experience and not one I think I will ever be attempting again! With the help of comedian Max Dary I gave myself just 20 minutes to write a joke that he would be performing during his set, and it turns out that joke writing is not as simple as you might think. So if you're considering getting into stand up but don't know whether it's for you, allow me to be your guinea pig and show you just what you're in for. And finally, you'll hear from my guest this week comedian Chloe Maddren! Chloe hosts The Friend Request podcast in which she searches for a best friend- a show that came about from a genuine need to meet people after moving to Sydney from Brisbane! Chloe also spoke to me about dealing with having a pretty common name, why she told people she was French for several years of her life, and her belief that everybody in Sydney is just too hot.
