EP. 7- Gentleman Jervis On Mental Health; Skateboarder Mike V's Pro Wrestling Stint In Ohio

from Iron-On Wrestling with Gregory Iron

Gregory Iron sits down with The World's Sweetest Man, Gentleman Jervis! Gentleman Jervis talks to Greg about leaving home at an early age to pursue a career in professional wrestling in The United States. From his start training with The Wild Samoans and Mike Quackenbush in CHIKARA to present day performing at Championship Wrestling From Hollywood, Jervis covers some of the highlights during his 7 year career. Most importantly, Jervis talks to Greg about his advocacy for mental health. For the first time in long form on a podcast, Jervis talks in-depth about his struggles with depression, suicidal ideation, how medication has helped him over the years, struggles with his father as a child, and how getting lost in the larger-than-life characters in pro wrestling inspired him to enter the sport himself and share a message of positivity and love. Before the interview, Greg chats with co-host Aaron Bauer about recently working with AEW ref Aubrey Edwards and radio personality Steve Migs in Seattle, "money marks" that tried to work as wrestling personalities, and Aaron goes in-depth about the time he got world renowned skateboarder and certified BAD ASS Mike Vallely to wrestle on an event for Aaron in Ohio! - - - Gregory Iron wrestles with cerebral palsy, a neurological disorder that affects the mobility of his right arm, hand and fingers. Trained by WWE NXT Superstar Johnny Gargano in 2006, Iron has conquered his disability and gone on to work with some of the top names in wrestling including "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, CM Punk, The Dudley Boyz, Tomasso Ciampa and many others. Co-host Aaron Bauer has worked in the professional wrestling industry for over two decades. A jack-of-all-trades, Aaron has worked in the industry as a local promoter for ECW events, a manager, and has provided color commentary over matches for some of the biggest stars in WWE, WCW, ECW, AEW, Impact & ROH.
