Ep. 7: Impostor Syndrome, Social Anxiety and The Big D, aka TheMentalHealthDeclineTM pt.2 (Germany miniseries pt.4)
from AdriJona Podcast · host AdriJona Podcast
Hey AdriJoners xoxo In this episode we are finally wrapping up our Germany miniseries (not to say the topics will never come up again because I'm sure they will) by continuing to talk about the difficulties we had after willingly becoming immigrants. While we do not regret our choice to leave home and while studying abroad has given us a lot of good things, there are also aspects of it that are not so fun, and we just wanted to chat about that a bit more, because both of us have found that if you're being open with yourself and other people, it inspires others to be more open and accepting of their own issues as well. Let's break the stigma that everything always has to be sunshine and butterflies, one amateur podcast episode at a time <3 A couple of Germany-related links for seeking help. You can always also go to your GP and tell them you are going through stuff and get a referral to a therapist! Also, many universities have counselling where people are used to dealing with problems that stem from feeling out of place in a new environment, no matter if they're easier to deal with or more grave - these people can refer you to a specialist that will help out! And look out for some night hotlines that are often also anonymous and give you someone to talk to. https://www.deutsche-depressionshilfe.de/depression-infos-und-hilfe/wo-finde-ich-hilfe/krisendienste-und-beratungsstellen https://www.opencounseling.com/hotlines-de By the way - if you need a friend to listen to you, you can always dm us on instagram, we will gladly chat to take your mind off of things <3 @flyinginsects is Jona @fundriana is Adriana We love u xoxo -yours truly, AdriJona
