Ep 7: Sword and Shield
from The Victory Chronicles Hosted by Cross and Crown Kingdom
Episode 7 of The Victory Chronicles: Sword and Shield. This is week three of Series 2, Armor Up. Anchor passage: Ephesians 6:16-17 (KJV) "Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:" This week the CCK Table looks at the two pieces of the armor you do not just wear. The belt, the breastplate, the shoes, those go on once and stay on. Paul changes verbs here. Taking. Take. These are items you pick up and use, in the moment, on purpose. That turns faith from a noun into a verb, from a feeling you either have or you don't into a reflex you actually raise when the fiery dart is inbound. And look at the job the shield is given: not to win the argument, not to make you feel better, just to quench it. A dart does not need to be defeated in some big showdown, it just needs to not land. Then the sword, and Paul does not leave it vague, he names it: the word of God. Not a feeling, not a slogan, not willpower. An actual verse, actually known, actually ready to say back. Three moves for this week: pick one verse and memorize it (one, not ten, short enough to say in five seconds), name the dart before it lands (say it out loud, that is a dart, not a fact), and answer back instead of just absorbing it (say your verse, out loud if you can). This week's challenge: pick one verse today. Write it somewhere you will actually see it, a note on your mirror or the lock screen on your phone. The next time a dart shows up this week, name it, then say the verse back. Text someone which verse you picked, so someone else knows to ask you if you used it. Strength in Faith. Victory in Christ.
