Ep. 70: Carol Way Wood

from Southcoast Artists Index

Welcome Carol Way Wood, illustrator, freelance artist, children's book illustrator, and painter. Born in 1948, she grew up in Sudbury, Massachusetts, and moved to Dartmouth in 1970. Carol is a true lover of country life and lived in Colorado from 1992 to 1999. She sold her first painting at 14 years old. That first sale kicked off a career as a freelance artist that has lasted for over 50 years. Carol Way Wood has designed greeting cards, illustrated children's books, and created items for the gift market. She has made and sold painting and print reproductions of her paintings. Carol is drawn to painting animals and flowers; doing detailed drawing in pencil first, then transferring it to watercolor paper, and then executing it mostly with watercolors, but occasionally gouache. music courtesy of www.bensound.com
