Pain may be caused by tissue damage, but it may also be masking a deep seeded attachment to one’s identity as a professional, a spouse/parent and as one sees themself. Living in pain may imbue every aspect of one’s life. This is a normal part of the human experience. How can we as clinicians help our patient’s work through pain attachment.
