Ep. 72: Current and Former Seattle Mayors at MOHAI in November 2001
from Cascade of History · host Feliks Banel
On this summertime edition of CASCADE OF HISTORY, we present a panel discussion from November 2001 with all living current and former mayors of Seattle. With the recent passing of Charley Royer, it’s a good time to share this vintage recording - which also includes Norm Rice, Wes Uhlman and the late Paul Schell and late Gordon Clinton. The moderator is Dave Ross of KIRO Newsradio for this event marking the 150th anniversary of the landing of the Denny Party at Alki, generally considered to be the founding of Seattle. The panel was part of a series produced by CASCADE OF HISTORY producer/host Feliks Banel when he was deputy director of Seattle's Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI), and was recorded before a live audience at the McEachern Auditorium at the old MOHAI in Montlake. This episode of CASCADE OF HISTORY was originally broadcast at 8pm Pacific Time on Sunday, August 4, 2024 via SPACE 101.1 FM and streaming live via space101fm.org from studios at historic Magnuson Park – formerly Sand Point Naval Air Station - on the shores of Lake Washington in Seattle.
