Ep. 72 - Seeing the World Through Baseball w/ Cousin Wolf (Matt Halvorson)

from Hooks & Runs · host A podcast about baseball, music and culture.

As World Series, Game Six gets underway, Craig and Andrew welcome Cousin Wolf, the indie-folk music project by Matt Halvorson, a Seattle-based musician, songwriter, artist, and activist. Cousin Wolf has released videos and songs this year about some interesting, compelling baseball players - players like Jackie Robinson, Lou Gehrig, Carl Mays to name three. These songs, nine ultimately, will be released in the album, "Nine Innings," next year. You can hear the songs on Cousin Wolf's website (see the link above), buy the songs on his Bandcamp page, and see his videos on his YouTube page. Wolf/Halvorson, is thoughtful, creative, relatable and a stone-cold baseball fan -- all characteristics we love at Hooks & Runs. In part two, Andrew and I analyze the World Series's first five games that left Houston trailing three games to two coming back to the Juice Box. We know how that ends though so ... enough about that.Thank you Cousin Wolf for permission to use "Kevin Elster" and "Roger Maris" on the show.
