In today's culture, the role of a father is often presented as a joke. When in reality, a father's role is infinitely more than that. God chose to use the primary descriptor "Father" for Himself. Why? well, like He is our perfect provider and an example for us to follow here on earth, we should strive to be that for our children. "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4).
