It was year of challenge especially for Matt who left retirement to join Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell’s administration, then learned he had kidney cancer, and despite his illness, led a successful Seattle Chinatown International District community protest against King County’s proposed expansion of a homeless shelter near the C-I D.
