Ep. 8: Catfish

Original Publish Date: July 20, 2020 We went old school this week with a documentary from 2010 that exposed deception on the internet and gave it the cute name "Catfish."  Nev Schulman, Ariel Schulman, and Henry Joost document the relationship between Nev and 8 year old wunderkind, Abby.  Abby paints canvases of Nev's beautiful photography and sends them to him as gifts.  Nev soon develops relationships with Abby's mother and a romantic relationship with Abby's 19 year old sister.  But is everyone who they say they are?   . . This is a fascinating look at life on the internet and how easily we can build a world that appears perfect when the reality is much different. .
