Ep. 8 Home is a Sticky Situation

from Pathless Podcast - Pathfinder to 5E Dungeons and Dragons · host Pathless Podcast - Pathfinder to 5E Dungeons and Dragons

The character’s travel down the Kektru Path and find themselves in some sweet and simple(?) 5th Edition D&D Combat. The players catch on quickly (faster than the DM about 30 minutes into the podcast) that they can now move out from behind cover and shoot then get back behind cover without taking any negatives.  It’s been hard for me at least to get used to being able to move around while within someone’s threat range without an attack of opportunity. There is talk of disengage and critical hits as well in Dungeons and Dragons Next. Reid is doing a project checking how long it takes players to make a decision per round in combat. Our experience has been that combat is more exciting with hits happening more often and it feels faster, but the player character’s are still low level so that may be a factor. Enjoy and feel free to comment, email ([email protected]), or use any social media with any thoughts or input. If you were wondering…Math of encounter without Morva was 50 xp under hard which was normal before.
