She had an interesting upbringing to say at the least, and talks about the challenges and strain that put on her and her own mothers relationship. In her own words, she describes her upbringing as being in a cult like environment and tells us how she ultimately made the decision to leave and go out on her own. Having to sleep on a mattress on the floor for 3 years, putting herself through high school and university to create a better future for herself. Ilana is such a moving speaker. She really speaks so well about everything she's had to endure to get to where she is today. You can tell how passionate she is about helping others, particularly those in less fortune situations.
