Ep. 8: Networking

from How To Get A Job · host Daniel Botero - Career Expert

In this episode, I talk about one of the most important topics for life in general: Networking. I don't care who you are or what you do, you need to be able to talk to people and network to build relationships for your career. Not only do I talk about networking though, I talk about how to network and turn some of your network into potential mentors. I can't stress to college students how important this is! As a student, no one will say no to you. Ask someone to lunch or a cup of coffee. Find people you are genuinely interested in getting to know and seek them out, most of the time they aren't going to say no. In this episode I cover my 5 tips for networking: What's in it for them, Receive only when needed, Stay top of mind, Be a trusted advisor, and Don't take more than you need. I will elaborate more on these in the episode so be sure to listen all the way to the end! Please remember to leave a review and subscribe to the podcast as well!
