Ep. 8 Tony Award Winner Daisy Eagan on Being a Broadway Baby!

Tony Award-winning actress Daisy Eagan stops by to talk about what it was like winning the biggest theater acting honor when she was just 11-years-old. When I was 11-years-old, I wanted to be on the Junior Varsity cheerleading team. That was my biggest goal in life. It was the pinnacle of success in my world at that time. I really had no aspirations beyond that  except maybe going to space one day (TNG-style). Actress & Mom Daisy Eagan The fact that Daisy Eagan at that same age was starring on Broadway (The Secret Garden) and won a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical is so mind-boggling to me, that I wish I could go back in time and slap myself in the face for being so short-sided. Beyond amazed is how I would describe what I feel about Daisy.  She accomplished so much at such a young age, faced tremendous pain and loss, and still continued with her love of theater and performing as she moved through life. Daisy and Monty. Such a ham! Does that mean life was perfect? No. There have been many challenges. She shares things in this episode that affected her deeply, and still do to this day.Her mother died just 2 years after she won a Tony. And now she is a mother, trying to figure it all out and live out her life’s passion for performing. She’s a self-described feminist and activist and has a beautiful singing voice. She even sang “Let it go” for Channing before she left for NYC so obvi we are big fans. But mostly we just had fun in this episode. Just two moms gabbing about how much we (unwittingly) love our kids and this industry. We do! She has promised me play dates if she ever moves back to LA. And I’m going to hold her to that.
