Robert's story is one of transformation and the pursuit of a mission that he never anticipated. After serving in the Marine Corps and facing his own battles with PTSD and other challenges upon returning to civilian life, Robert found profound healing in sharing his story. This realization led him to create Bullets and Bandaids, which pairs veterans' stories with civilian writers and artists to create powerful narratives and artwork. Throughout the conversation, Robert emphasized the importance of dialogue and storytelling in healing and bridging divides. He shared how Bullets and Bandaids has evolved to include a diverse range of voices, from World War II veterans to those from different countries, and how the organization has expanded its reach through art shows and museum exhibits.
