EP 9 AI, Spotify, and Audiobooks • Artists Copyrights as Collateral • Make $ as a Fan • Big Ass Woofer!
from Prof Snyder's Music Biz News
EP 9 https://youtu.be/O_xuVgd-tEQSpotify is moving into Audiobooks. Will this expand consumer demand and maybe more work for studios? But...Book Publishers Both Fear and Embrace AI in Writing, Translating, and Recording Audiobooks. Quantity over quality in the audiobook world, like music? Used to be that an artist with 100 loyal fans, could make $100,000 a year if each fan bought $100 a year in records, merch, etc. But now super fans don't buy from the artists, but rather pay for subscriptions to streaming services. So creating a loyal fanbase, except for a couple artists like T Swifty, is almost impossible...but...Professional Fans are creating income by creating secondary ancillary markets off of the primary creator! After Young Thug is released from incarceration, AEG renews its suit for $5 Million because he breached a tour agreement. He used his song catalog as collateral for the advance, but sold off his catalog to undisclosed buyers. So AEG is now looking for where the copyrights are. Jonesy's Cat-Shit Crazy Pick is a Big-Ass Subwoofer!
