Ep.9 Interview with Carol Sideen: Minnesota's State Photograph GRACE and it's History.
from Country Proud Living Nurturing Home, Empowered Self
Hello and welcome to the Country Proud Living Podcast! Nurturing home, empowered self. I am your host LoriLynn, and I am so happy you are here! Carol and I struck up a conversation a couple years ago about the Iconic Grace art piece and we reconnected to discuss it in more detail. Many of you have seen this iconic art piece and those that live in the Midwest will be very familiar with it and even those throughout the US and internationally will recognize it as well. If you are like Carol and I who grew up seeing this artwork you will find its history and its ties to Minnesota very interesting. The photograph "Grace" was adopted as the Minnesota state photograph in 2002.The photograph “Grace,” depicting an elderly man bowing his head and giving thanks, was taken in Bovey, Minnesota in 1918 by Eric Enstrom. A picture that seemed to say, “This man doesn’t have much of earthly goods, but he has more than most people because he has a thankful heart.” Thanks for your support and stopping by today!
