Ep 9: Talking Dance with Pan Mac

Welcome to another episode of Ta Leme brought to you by NUGAS Victoria! In this week’s episode, our host Denise is joined by special guest Jack Tzikas, Artistic Director of the Pan Macedonian Association of Melbourne and Victoria, to unpack the interplay between Greek dance and identity. We chat about the function and meaning of Greek dance, its roots in history, and its modern manifestations in both Greece and Australia. This episode explores the ways in which Greeks of the diaspora, particularly the Greek Australian community, attempt to hold on to heritage through dance and the importance in doing so.
