In sports news, Steve Kim and Jason discuss the talented Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava reportedly wanting out of Knoxville and the University of Tennessee. There have been some NIL disputes between Iamaleava and UT’s quarterbacks coach. Nico then proceeded to skip spring practice and ultimately leave the school. This is what the unregulated NIL has created in college sports: entitled professional athletes who lack the loyalty and perseverance needed for success. These players know that some other school will offer them lucrative NIL contracts if they have an issue with their previous school. What kind of precedent are we setting for these kids? Finally, wrapping up the show, Steve and Jason discuss the tragic suicide of standout LSU football player Kyren Lacy. Lacy was preparing to be drafted in the first or second round of the 2025 NFL draft class.
