Ep 94 Grace Lin - Children’s Book Author and Illustrator

from Infatu Asian Podcast · host InfatuAsian Podcast

I read Grace Lin's The Ugly Vegetables to my kids when they were little, and it quickly became one of our favorites, for so many reasons. It was an honor to speak with her over Zoom last week and I'm happy to bring you this episode! Her latest book, available September 12, 2023, is called Chinese Menu, and it is fantastic!  It is a collection of about 40 American Chinese dishes. Classics like Chop Suey, General Tso's Chicken, Broccoli Beef, etc.  Grace weaves the history behind the dishes, with legends, stories, and amazing art.  It's NOT just for kids, I'm thoroughly enjoying it! You can meet Grace in person if you live in Seattle (9/11), San Francisco (9/12), Oakland (9/13), Berkeley (9/14), or Pasadena (9/15).  Details are here: https://gracelin.com/news-events/    You can also get details and lots more stories from Grace at her Instagram account @pacylin Thank you so much to Grace for speaking with me!  Thanks to Little Brown Books for sending me a preview pack, and to publicist Carrie Bachman for making the arrangements for me to connect with Grace!
